A Heart Full of Hope, Yoga Nidra

A hopeful, heartfelt, restorative practice

What does hope feel like?

For a long time, hope felt like an elusive dream. My mind would always default to an almost hopeless mindset; it was simply too painful to hope and then watch everything crumble.

Losing what we hope for is undeniably painful. It requires a certain vulnerability to dare to hope, to open ourselves to the possibility of that pain. But with that vulnerability comes the potential for something more: warmth, lightness, confidence, ambition, and a whole spectrum of experiences that make life richer.

Hope unlocks a latent energy within us. When we feel hopeful, we can do almost anything! It removes barriers, broadens our perspectives, and empowers us to reach for the stars.

Perhaps that's why people have often linked hope with dreaming—"Hopes and Dreams." Hope is a necessary part of the waking dream—those big things we yearn to accomplish, even if they seem impossible.

Over the past few weeks, many of you have shared your struggles with finding hope. Inspired by these conversations, I've created a 43-minute Yoga Nidra practice designed to help us reconnect with that feeling of hope.

This practice incorporates the following images and symbols:

  • A hot air balloon

  • The sensation of heights as we ride in the balloon

  • A peaceful clearing within a forest

No prior experience is needed; simply come as you are and be welcomed into this journey.

Enjoy!
