Thank you for this timely reminder that there are so many ways of accessing hope, if we’re willing to make that choice. So grateful for your contributions to the dialogue on Substack and in the world!
Love thinking of hope as a muscle! I’ve been working on my ‘trust’ muscle lately - doing scary things to prove the world won’t end when I do them! Never thought this way about hope though!
What a well-written article! I love the different breakdowns of hope because it's so true! Hope looks so different for everyone, and it's important to recognize the different ways it can fit into our lives. I also loved loved loved the concrete next steps to generate more hope into our lives! For me, hope is 100% about having faith that even if I don't know the outcome, I trust that everything will work out! So, taking messy brave action anyways!
Thank you for stopping by and sharing! I'm so glad the article resonated with you. I really love your definition - we each have a different definition and thats part of the fun. Once we learn ours, we can really make a difference. Here's to taking messy brave action anyways! ❤️
I really liked your recommendation of viewing hope as a muscle. Just as I have to work on being less negative, but I also have to prioritize the act of being hopeful. Love is a verb and so is hope.
I loved President Obama's book, "The Audacity of Hope." The title was enough to dazzle me into reading the book.

Yes yes yes! I think we get stuck when we think we need to be like everyone else.
YES! Because we lose us. 🥺
